With the recent flooding here in Cagayan de Oro, my dreams of making this game got crushed... so I was really demotivated and decided to stop making Delta and start over with a new, smaller game.

and thus earlier today I posted a request for somebody who can "visualize" characters from text descriptions.

Contemplating on new production name

I'm thinking of a new name for our production team... As all of you would know... Our team's current name is "Team4". "Team4" was the name suggested to me by the Main Artist when the project was being discussed over protection and licensing issues, since Creative Common's licences requires a name... gah...

I'm in the process of contacting team members to suggest a name... I hope we can decide on one soon...

anyway... just to celebrate the upcoming Halloween.. I'll be posting this.

Recruitment and Stuff

Ok... this is a rantm and I totally blame myself for what happened to the project.

anyway. a dozen people had expressed first off..

we have an artist.. the first artist for the project... initially contacted on May of 2010... months later, we haven't heard of her since.

another one... an Editor, contacted and contracted on June 2010 ... gave her/him the whole script for editing... and then... poof.. vanished.. no contact/report for almost a year now... I wonder if that person will reply to my PM. xD

then two more editors... one of them is my friend.. the other one, is a lemma-member... around the same time I contacted them... the friend finished the job... the other one, she offered critics and poof... gone like the wind... but I think her critiques help though.

then finally.. a scriptwriter... and I haven't heard of him since last August..

so yeah.. maybe they're all like that because of the "no real deadline" clause in the recruitment section inside the original post at the forums.. so yeah.. i kinda blame myself... maybe they'll contact me later once I send them notes...

anyway, on the lighter side of light (yes.. I think you notice that I really like to use "anyway") lolz..

we have two new contracts... for colorist/inker and for base-colorist/inker
yeah... I gave them tests to see who suits the project... good luck to them.

also... we're planning for a New Year or Early Spring release.. let's hope we can finish this project once and for-all.. hahaha

BACK TO SCHOOL

and YEAH! contrary to the usual August Opening to the school year in most countries, we here in the Philippines start classes on June.

Hmm.. Anyway, updates.. just to commemorate this blog's one year of service.

We ran into problems, yes, bad news for those who are actually waiting for the final designs... My artist has a few family problems to attend to... so we wouldn't post the designs as estimated... coloring would probably take a week or two so I wish we could help him rush-scan the items...

Re-designed characters... we had too, the anatomy was way-off...

Not much to talk about, because we've progresses only a little...

this conversation suddenly popped in my head while I was buildinh Project Delta's universe for the next chapters and games and projects... arghh... parody included

conversation between Captain Izuni Nakahara (The protagonist's cousin) and her subordinate, Lieutenant Steyri Austeyr.

Steyri: "Captain, who do some people use objects to fly?"
Izuni: "You mean, brooms, shoes and stri*** units?"
Steyri: " "Yes, why don't they fly by directly using their legs?"

Izuni: "Two things, It's either they feel intense pain, or intense pleasure if they do."

Izuni: "One more thing, science-magic hybrid machines are way too are too costly upon its user's mind and body... its a one-way ticket to... a hospital bed."

New motivation

anyway, A week in the capital and all my plans for the game went disrupted.. and almost aborted, oh, wait, well... the storyboard got aborted though... so as the colored final designs... we need a colorist, a female one...

anyway, at least I have a new companion beside me...

I got a Shikinami Asuka Langely figma and an Azusa Nakano figma...

RAWR... lol.. just venting out... anyway.. I developed the strange habit of looking at a figma when thinking on what to do while scripting or surfing the net.... and Azusa's like:

okay.... we've just restarted officially with this drawing. hehehe... Now Tomoko looks so far from the original character concept, and she will be deviating more and more away from her original appearance because of the shift in art styles.. one more victim of shifting art styles is...

Hiromi seems to be a different person now... hehehe.. anwyay... we were just designing the expressions... it's not likely that the finish products would be like this... hmmm... anyway, enough with sprites.

BG wise... we're trying to design it too...

anyway, making I game takes more time. As I realized... it's not that quick... a lot to consider especially if your the director and you're gonna supervise so that the character art conforms to the story... enough rants... Happy April Fools Day...

Yup... that's it. Just in time for new year. Anyway, it represents only 50-70% of the script. If I haven't lost the original script, I think I'd be at 90% already.

We've been able to pull a miracle with the two new artists... for now, almost all of the characters are being remade to match personality with appearance, something the original concepts did not manifest enough.

One more thing... funny thing is that, I never thought I would map out the exact location of the bg's and cg's in the story's setting... I mean... the Settlement the characters live in lies between the border of small and huge. Hahahahaha....

also, a piece of advice to newbies like me:

Listen to epic theme music when writing. Epic in a sense like NGE's OST's or Epic in terms of song meaning like AKB48's Beginner or River. (Isn't it rude for me to compare too different genres???)

Gods, Devils and Humans

Anyway, been thinking the structure of belief here, I mean, just the structure... since the story takes place in a time where the supposedly Divine finally decided to meddle with Humanity after Humans finally nuked their dear planet, though I'm not implying that the Divine (referring to both Gods and Devils here) actually created the world, it's just that, they have some really ulterior motives behind their intervention. Yes, a real tangible case of divine intervention.

So what am I implying? I could be implying the following:

Humans created the Divine through faith or

The Divine created humans for faith. or worse

Everyone is Haruhi Suzumiya, a.k.a: GOD

As the fundamental law goes:

Belief is the source of power for all things and persons. As long as you believe, you will get what you want.

The second part seems to falter most of the time. It is a philosophical subject... "As long as you believe" Now, humans are creatures that will always have the nature of uncertainty and doubtfulness with them, so believing, truly believing is always a far possibility.

This universe is built around and by faith

Pretty sums up everything. It's faith that built this universe. Putting the blame for creating the universe to somebody else, "who created faith?" or "Who started believing?"

For the past months, I'v been creating some sort of foundation for all the concepts in the story. This is one such concept, why'd the hell did the Divine started living with Humans. Also, working on the basis of Human powers like ESP and Magic, and why do some of them can use both.

Full concept may be up in a week in the newly opened concepts page. And finally, some sketches from the team's new artists soon.

8 Months Dev Note.

Just commemorating almost 8 Months of development.

Anyway, I'll be talking (ranting) about some things that I spent a significant amount of time on. Almost all of these things come from Character Development, from the writing department of the VN project.

Starting off with Sora Aoki, the game's half-devil female. Honestly, I had really long and weird moments when I had to deal with this certain character. Since she wasn't human, I guess I shouldn't write her to be human, only to slap myself for overlooking that she was HALF-HUMAN! and that she grew up in Earth and never visited the cold hell.

Another thing regarding her is that, she looks like a flirt, but actually, is not a flirt. Also, Flirt != Play. Sora is expected to be written and regarded as a PLAYFUL character and not REALLY a FLIRT, since she usually likes to Mind F*** people around her and flirting is a part of that... She FLIRTS to PLAY, not to *******.

Aside from that, i think i spent an awful lot of time trying to write a description for each one of her sprites. The "Smiling" and the "Concerned/Comforting" sprite. Damn Right, I could never avoid a moment while writing some parts of the script where she's involved. I would spend almost half to a whole hour looking at her OC as I try to think and edit and edit and edit all-over her sprite descriptions (How she should look, how her expressions should look like) and all the stuff. Commonly, one common advice for us writers as we communicate with the Artists is that, as possible, sketch what you want, then put comments around it and put a few lines too. Since I'm not that gifted... I try to be as precise as possible in giving a description, and as as the lines.

Anyway, let's take Sora's "Smiling" sprite for example. It's first description was:

Evil Smiling (It's not really evil, It's just that....when she smiles, there's always a guy or two who would get pissed)

Followed by:

Smiling (Evil)(Something like a childish smile."Plastic" Or a smile that leaves an impression that it's insincere and that inside her mind, she's laughing at you for how pathetic you are.)

Finally, the latest:

(Evil) Smiling (Not really an evil smile, it's just that, it's an unbelievably innocent smile that gives the impression that something bad will suddenly happen.)

ADD: (Similar to a caring quiet POTENTIAL yandere's smile. Her intentions are PURE, it's just that, people don't believe her, or her ANGELIC smile looks fake or does not suit her personality.)
ADD: (There's always a select few who'd get pissed when she smiles. Wrong timing maybe? or maybe she's reallysarcastic in showing sympathy.)
ADD: (More like a sarcastic angel's smile.)

Right now, I thini Add #3 is pretty sums it all up. You're going to feel a little pissed by her suspiciously perfect smile.

yeah... from simple to absurdly exact (edit; Proximate). that's how absurd I am in paying attention to Sora. Originally, I conceptualized her as the anti-hero, or at least look like an anti-hero since she was sporting the "half-closed" flirt eyes. Enough of Sora, moving on to the another troublemaker, Maya Nohara.

Yes, she is ONE BIG TROUBLEMAKER, in-terms of her story and in her descriptions... as one fellow Game Dev. pointed out:

Glad to finally see this thread! I hope you manage to finish this, although I find this story a bit amusing to some extent. Could you explain why you've chosen antarctica and Japan? I just can't cope with this whole idea of evacuating so many people from one place to another - it's a bit unrealistic. Is it somehow connected with the story?

Other than that, I'd like to point this out:

I hope you know what being a hikikomori is. Even if ex-borderline (those are really rare cases), such person can't be active not even talking about being outgoing. Even if she somehow managed to get out from it (which isn't simple, beacuse borderline hikikomori's tend to completely isolate themselves from their past enviroment; Being out of it propably means she sustained somekind of a terrible shock which made her life upside down. I love the art. Character concepts look great, if not a little crooked here and there but that's not a problem, at least from my point of view

This post prompted me to do some rewriting on Maya's story, but actually, she is still, by essence, the same, except that her background story has gone WAY more DEEP and COMPLICATED... I focused way more into her past rather than how she is in the present. It included reading a lot of psychology books, research on mental facilities, psychological disorders. Hint: She could sing Nomico's "Bad Apple!" as her Character theme song. Sh's not a female version of Tasuhiro Sato.

Another problem, the so called "Comforting/Concerned" sprites for Maya and Sora.. the "caregivers" lolz...while other characters have "troubled" faces for their "Concerned" sprite and a different sprite for "Comforting". Yes comforting and being concerned are synonyms bu i guess they follow each other... So why merge them into one, I mean, they's one whole process called "?!????1?!?!" Anyway, maybe just because these two characters seem to have very ambiguous and vogue personalities to an extent that a person couldn't understand their expressions. Or maybe because they're so concerned that they don't show it, they proceed to comfort the person immediately.

One last thing, the EDITOR's comments:

I don't think I've finished even one path yet, and I see some major changes that need to be made.

First off, when writing numbers, you should write them out in words if the number is two digits or less. I suppose having numbers in the prologue scene would be alright for dramatics, but anywhere else in the game text, the digits should be written as words.

Second, all quotations in dialogue (spoken character text) needs to be taken out. They're fine in NVL (novel) mode, but they're redundant in ADV (adventure) mode.

Lastly, all dialogue needs to have punctuation after it. Rather, all SENTENCES need to have punctuation at the end.

There's lots of grammar/word choice mistakes as well. Could I have a copy of the .txt file? It'd be easier/more efficient if I just changed it via that.

I'm mixed on the story as well. I can see that there are a lot of relationships between the main character and the rest of the cast, but so far, the plot's solely been "CHOOSE A GIRL, BRO," which is kinda boring. The Vocaloid/anime references are way too blatant and jarring, in my opinion. A bit of subtlety and I think they would work better. Maybe the other paths will get into the whole military/magic aspect of the setting...

I can't say much about the plot so far, since I've only gone through one path, but yeah, you should hone it to more than just relationship troubles. Not that relationship troubles aren't entertaining to read on their own, but the setting the game has is very, how can I put it, big. There's a lot of potential and world exploration you can do with the academy or even the Antarctica that you've created. Try writing in that direction a little more and see if that helps.

Right, ever since that, I've been watching my grammar and mechanics like crazy. Also, I'm trying to write more about the setting and the stuff aforementioned earlier.

Okay, so much for the things that ate my time. Next stop is programming.

Since we're using a 3-rd party Visual Novel Engine. Well, programing fine... excel that I'm too lazy to screw this one certain core task. THE GUI. though the engine does provide basic themes, but that won't work for professional and semi-professional quality games. "Roundrect" (Round Rectangle) does not work. I don't know why, but seems blue is a common ?GUI color for games... maybe I'm just influenced by the engine's very first games.

Anyway, i think developing the game's GUI is good practice for my course (Info Tech) since sooner or late, I'll encounter imagemaps. Like I said earlier, there's no problem with the actual programming/coding itself... the problem lies in the tricky part of DESIGNING it and creating the required images.

Another thing concerning with programming is the actual DIRECTION... I mean, DIRECTING THE SCENES... this includes the easy transitions to the NOT-SO-EASY panning and other effects... I was even planning to have a "to the stars effect" as Hiromi zaps her cousin to the stars.

Another concern is the Gallery feature... though there are ready codes available... some people say it's easier to use imagemaps... I think it's easy toom.

Moving on, here comes the core element, ART.

A good story makes-up for bad art, Good art may make-up for a bad story.

Pretty true, though Good art + a Bad story may put the art to waste...But artists are responsible enough to choose a project. So a scenario where good art is put to waste is rare. Take note that Graphic Editors also kill Artists, pretty much the same way an Editor kills a writer.

Anyway, let's start with the quest for an artist. Right, the games started with an artist named ***** who wanted to help with the sprites, but months later, she vanished into the deep recesses of the internet, never to be heard again. Next, we have (we still have her on stand-by) Yuki, who submitted an OC art of Shijimi Yamamoto who's design was way due because of someone's *ehem* clumisness.

Then we have the newest addition to the team... A friend of mine who's interested in making a doujin circle here in my place. He'll be working for my game in exchange for helping him with his dream. Some sort of free promotion hehehe, his art + my game.

The sprites are okay for now, though there are still no finished sprites as of the moment... not even a single one conceptualized, but hey... we're releasing this next year, so what's the rush. SUMMER is AHEAD.

Aside from sprites, we have the BG's and the CG's, both may require a specialized artist. I have the option of using photos, BUT, BUT, it will not fit to the post-apocalyptic nuclear winter setting of the game.

Anyway, I plan on recruiting any one of my otaku friends who major in Architecture to help us at least with the design, specially the 5 square kilometer school, the 250000 square meter academy, the Geodesic Dome, the whole settlement itself. Though i could draw the floor plans, the actual design is different.

One more thing, outfits. Outfits are of the sprite artist's concern... though there are at least three characters who different requirements for clothing (e.g Izumi and Tomoko's home clothing, Hiromi's maid outfit, Tomoko's kyudo clothes, ROTC uniform, ASDF uniform etc.)

also a concern of the writer is the practically or ?*?*?*?*?* of the clothes... I mean, let's say, wearing the summer uniform for winter and the likes. Concerns raised:

Wearing of short-mini skirts in sub-freezing to freezing (In the original story) temperatures for pro-longed hours of time.
Not wearing winter clothing of the main non-Japanese cast...
Where the H*** are the trench coats, the mufflers, and the scarves?

Hehehe... anyway, most of the time, the characters are in their school uniforms. One more concern is the Mecha that will be featured in some part of the some certain episodes of the sequels.

Those are the main concerns as of now. Lastly, Minor concerns:

Copyrigh: I just had the game licensed under creative commons. It's practically just protecting it from copyright infringement.

Setting: I had to write more about the settlement, life inside it and outside it, the people making living in it. I had to create a small demographic table just to estimate the exact distribution of 1M students into the 8 Sub-settlements. Also, I have to create an APP-6A chart for the settlement's garrison. For sure, the distribution of students would prove useful in later projects in the same universe. Like 975 students in a 95 hectare school building.

Mechanics: I'm formulating a very scientific approach on measuring ESP and Magic abilities, a school curriculum for each of the four academies, The Antarctic Military itself andthe treaty governing the Antarctic Settlements in Japan. Also including: Military organization of the ASDF, Population distribution per settlement, use of abilities and finally, The relationship between Gods, Devils and Humans. Basically, how things go in the story's universe.

History: Aside from the timeline, I'm writing a detailed (and believable) explanation for why Gods coexist with Devils and Humans in the present time, and how the three were related in the past. Also, how'd the hell did Antarctica got colonized.

Background Story: Yeah, it's related to history, though this field refers more to the setting's influences on the characters.

Recruitment: We're still looking for artists and designers! Also, beta-readers.

Practicality of the project: try asking this questions? is 13 characters excessive? does having 4 heroines a little too much? Does the art requirement and overall length affect recruitment and fanbase? is the story too long and too complex? or maybe it's uninteresting?

Anyway, good news for the project... FINALLY... A REAL ARTIST... wahahaha... anyway, it's still 2 days since he joined... at least, this guy is someone I know... someone who aims to gather all local artists and create a doujin circle.

aside from that...

the project needs a GUI designer... since, really, I think i have no taste for art... for these past hours, I've been stuck with photoshop, trying to think and conceptualized a decent GUI theme/scheme for the game... i admit, it is still too early to think about the GUI, but I'm calling people there that might be interested..

The designer inst really inclined to program the whole GUI, I just want him to create the design... put it into an image file, then I'll code it into an imagemap. Else, if my skills fail me after all, then, I'll be calling the help of a GUI programmer... heheheh.

also, a crazy idea of a mascot character for the team... some girl who wields a pistol in her right hand, and a semi automatic rifle (implied, an M-14 EBR w/ a single-point sling) in her left.

Okay... Somebody replied and wants to give critic... I'll be giving her the text-only game this week.

and yes, she's going to check it for everything in terms of consistency and such.

Other thing is... a new artist would finally, join the project

The game will finally have a committing artist.

Hehehe, surprisingly, the game didn't go to hiatus because of the writing process... it's been evolving ever since. .. but unfortunately... when rewriting parts, I am confident that THERE is a mistake... especially when rewriting the complicated paths of heroines... making sure that somehow, it's really realistic... that (of course, if you choose one, then everything gets affected.)

each choice will affect time, space and destiny (Destiny here is the path)

Anyway, I have no idea what I just wrote up there.

Since before the concept arts where submitted, the characters already have an abstract description of their personality, attitudes, and of course... vital stats.

The heroines' vital stats were predetermined using sheer research and eye power.

Willpower indeed.. I spent days looking at some games' character profiles and really examined if this is really the size. Good thing I did not come to the point of asking girls about their cup sizes.

Anyway, what I am saying here is that, the characters will undergo a complete and comprehensive "re-conception" this mean, either their old character designs will be retained, or something will be added. In a probably worst-case scenario, or possibly a better scenario, some of the characters will be rebon, with new art.

Well, every character will be redrawn in this new artist's style. If that I consent... I have rights, but if those rights are not to my advantage in a compromise, then, F*** rights.

really... so before the great ultimate recheck and the great ultimate reincarnation, I'll be posting some sort of document I gave to the OC-girl to create the concept art, that together with the abstract description.

Hehehe... I told her to base the characters' looks from these characters.

Yeah, almost all of them have similar names... maybe because during the earlier days of writing Project Alpha (The center of all center) I kinda liked side characters and so, I incorporated them to my story, but, not without playing with the names first... funny thing is, the physical description posted about those characters are also, or should I say, almost similar to the base character.

and that's it. Reminiscing about things before they get change.

meanwhile... Game just gain its 30000 mark again... celebrating. 90k words to go.

Hello world... a little rant this time.

Missing text: "They don't look like they're related right?"

Okay... first, I have to say sorry for not introducing the protagonist's younger and BLOOD-RELATED sister, Izumi Nakahara.

now... deviating from the usual step-sibling scenario that I've encountered in virtually every game, I wonder why I created Izumi.... was it because I felt that Kyo might do better if he has a sister, or maybe, he could do her sister instead.

Anyway, aside from Tomoko who has been co-habituating with the Nakahara-siblings since her parents died, Kyo already has a good harem from the start.

A tsundere sister (who was inspired by a yandere character), and a klutz. Well, I can't really say if Izumi is a tsundere even though conceptualized her... this is where a pretty troubling problems arises.

Earlier, I had a problem with Maya Nohara, a character whose personality actually contradicts itself... i mean...

WTF? yeah... it's rare, maybe impossible... but what i'm saying here is that... I could call her a "sporadic" hikikomori... she locks herself up due to some factors... and besides, she carries another disorder with her... and still, she's at the edge. but nonetheless, she's trying to be a normal girl for her age despite the fact that she can't and won't be normal.

returning. I've been writing the script of the game for a long time, and still, someone has to see the script for critic... to see if the characters are written the way they are supposed to be. I myself, the writer and the scenario guy have been doubting weather the characters are written correctly.

Any advice? really... I started feeling this way after the great deletion of my original script... the original Day2AM.rpy file that I've written for so long... only to disappear after a freak accident and never to be recovered. T.T

was Nanako who was supposed to be shy, written to be shy?

was Hiromi who was supposed to be as harsh as a slave master, written to be such?

was Maya, who was supposed to be troubled, yet outgoing and active, written to be such?

Really... to tell you the truth... here's the original game concept compared to the original story's concept.

1. Tomoko Oniyama...

Tomoko Oniyama - A girl who's not so active, and not so non-active. She's Innocent, a little refined, a little clumsy and oblivious to the pleasures of the world.

She gets good grades in school. She is gentle, considerate, soft-spoken, and delicate, has childlike naivete and innocence, modest and refined but she easily gets scared or flustered. She is humorous, sensitive, kind, and She also comes off as naive and rather clueless as Paula and Maria is. She remains utterly oblivious to the attention of the men around her.

2.) Nanako Ishii

The Oujo turned Dandere. Kyo's Magical girlfriend from the start of the game.
Her personality is hard to define.

The quote says it all...

The elegant, innocent and sweet princess type, Her appearance actually implies she's that she has a gentle and introverted personality. Though there are a lot of princess types in section 3-A, only Nanako acts close to one. Nanako is always with Maya in whatever they do. Nanako is also a hostess on the Host Club, were she teaches the Host Club members fine dining. Nanako is also known to be formal and elegant in her ways and she actually denies it.3.

3.) Maya Nohara

The not-so-Hyperactive girl. A little liberated and likes to flirt with Kyo. Teases Kyo for his sincere way of handling girls (and his conservative views.) Claims to be suffering from Bipolar Affective Disorder (Most of the people don't believe her, But Kyo knowns more than the truth.)

Kyo's online buddy who is an otaku and an ex-borderline hikikomori.???.. she suffers from a lot of emotional conditions. She's outgoing and active.... She can read people's memories, but can't read Kyo's, Tomoko's and her own memories. Kyo knows what Maya was from the past.

Maya is Nanako's partner in crime, though Maya isn't as elegant as Nanako,
they get together well as Maya is amazed at Nanako's prose, poise, posture and every facet of
her elegance and the other way around.

Looks like Maya was designed not to have a distinct personality at all... she was created to serve

as Nanako's servant and also, not as Kyo's best friend.

4.) Hiromi Aoki

Now, Hiromi didn't originate from the original story. She was created specifically for the game,

though, the truth is, in this alternate universe retelling, Hiromi Aoki existed in the orignal story

as Naoki Aoki... who's described as follows...

Naoki is Sora's far cousin, she has mixed Italian, French, Spanish and Japanese descent.
She is cute and cheerful, she likes being a journalist. While Sora who's so Japanese...
Naoki has a cheeky facial structure which the boys like to pinch. She is also frank about things.

Pretty far from her alternate "Hiromi" self...

The girl Kyo pursued back when he was still in Antarctica. She rejected Kyo when she said "no" subconsciously.... Hiromi is a class B magician who has a habit of zapping people when she's happy.... Hiromi's cousin Sora, was the one responsible for Kyo and Hiromi's reunion.

The secondary characters are okay, Sanae and Shijimi seems close to their original concept as Tomoko's

buddies. The secondary characters I worry about are Sora and Itsuko Sawanaga (The class repz).

Sora is supposed to be:

A girl slightly playful and naughty personality but also with a slightly sadistic and an enigmatic aura

and appearance, as her smile and eyes (As it appears to be closed and even her hairstyle) implying that she is hiding something sinister or planning something sadistic, but on the contrary, she's just your average, playful and friendly everyday middle school girl. She is the secretary for the occult club and the self-proclaimed manager of the Host club. She's omniscient as hell.

compare:

She's Flirty (Dead Serious Flirty) and has some hidden quirks and perks in store for surprises. often a victim of Hiromi's romantic outbursts. Sora often kills or create romantic moments for Kyo and Hiromi. (She actually cares for the both of them.)

Well, Sora has maintained that sadistic and enigmatic (actually, flirt) feel around her in the game

but I think she's too kind as opposed to the original "sadistic playmate" feel. She's supposed

to act as the personification of Kyo's superego along with Sanae. But still... she plays her supporting

role, in my opinion, very well. I think Sora's a little similar to Ami Kawashima (Toradora), and

Hitomi Kashiwa and the original Misaki Nakahara (Welcome to the N.H.K).

Back to the siblings and the family tree problem.

I'd like to point out that there are four characters who are related by blood.

MAJOR EDIT:

Forgot about the Ishii sisters... though, then again, the OC girl who drew them did not drew them

as if they were sisters.. but it's okay... it can be fixed by their hair color... since the Ishii clan is a

clan of purple-haired people.

1.) Kyo Nakahara and Izumi Nakahara:

Pure blood siblings. Izumi is a year younger than Kyo. There's no problem with this, except that..

My friend who made the original concept art for Izumi forgot to draw Izumi as Kyo's relative, and that

being so, must have a few similar characteristics. I can't see any common characteristics among the

siblings... sometimes, it makes me feel that Tomoko's the real sibling and not Izumi.

But thankfully, the problem has been solved by making the eye color the same for both of them.

Lesson learned: When two characters are blood related... draw them as they are related.

2.) Sora Aoki and Hiromi Aoki:

Here is a very distinct problem presented by Sora's different nationality... Sora is a Half-Devil while

Hiromi is a Human Being, 100%?. And again, I can't see anything common among the two of them,

though this is acceptable, I mean, they are cousins, not siblings.

Anyway... problem here is, the Aoki family name... belongs to... belongs to... the fathers... that could

mean either of the two or both:

Sora's human father married a devil.
Hiromi is an adopted member of the Aoki clan. (x)

Well, I did say they are cousins, and implicitly, (maybe-not) blood-related. But then again...

some other possibilities.

Sora is the one who's adopted. (x)
Hiromi's human father was an adopted member of the Aoki clan. (x)
Sora's devil father had a relative who's lineage is nearer to humans, and that relative married Hiromi's mother.

Let me elaborate #3 Hiromi's a magician... therefore, her parents could be both magicians or one of them ii

an Esper... we could say that maybe, Hiromi's father is a far (VERY FAR) descendant of the Aoki family... and

lots of complicated legal matters later... Here he is, as an Aoki.

Anyway, the question here is, is the Aoki clan a clan of humans, or a clan of devils.?

Really, I've started working on Day Two's Afternoon scenario. Although I can't remember most of the exact dialogues between the characters, I was able to rewrite them again. I think there's a lot of lines added on the first hours of the afternoon. Anyway, I've started working on Day 3 Am too, and the first draft of Day 1 will be sent to the editor for proofreading and criticism.

The script for DAY2_PM and all sound effects were not recovered, following my laptop's disastrous meltdown. Including in the list of KIA (Korrupted in Action) are the Option.rpy and mainmenu.rpy files... but good thing most image fills where recovered, thanks to Tune-Up utilities... (I love you now)...

anyway, because of this setback, Production is going to speed -up to make up for the lost progress... and it won't be severely affected just because of that.!

Act One to Act Two.

Now,

The paths for Act 1 are done, the problem now is, Act 2. I have planned that when Act I gets finish. Recruitment for Act 2 will be open. Open to writers that is. Act 2 will cover the last 3 Months of High School and the first days of college.

Now, They're not going to a normal college though. All I can say is that...

"It's fairly difficult." -That is, to write paths for Act 2. Since TWO heroines will have heavy drama paths by default while the others would have romantic comedy by default. Depends on what ending you will end up in Act I. Also, some paths will have another heroine present, that makes it possibly two or more girls per path. It will also using one or two Units in the Antarctic Military (and all it's Techno-babble). All paths will also cross with one of Project Floreal's events. which is also present in Project Alpha.

The main problem is, TRANSITION. 3 Months and another set of days is hard, especially because this is not a dating-sim. It doesn't have the flexibility and the luxury of skipping days doing nothing at all.

Several Ideas came into mind when I read the words;

Mozzarella, Mississippi and Massachusetts

They could actually be used as names. Since Antarctica is a country where everything cold mixes in, be it Russian, Canadian, Swede, Norwegian, as long as that place in at the northernmost latitudes of the planet, it all meets at Antarctica. A land of ice.

I had fully named the first 4 Senior sections of the Academy, From Class A to D. Though there are characters from the other sections already named, Like Clandestine and Mizuki from Class 3-M.

Class A to D's students' names are all in Japanese. And signs of "Multi-cultural heritage" starts to spring from the lower sections.

Upon the first days of conceptualizing project Floreal which centres on one of Delta's characters, Yori Sawanaga. I needed more unique names, I think I have exhausted every resource on Japanese names I have. So, I started searching for some words that can be used as names, in an unexpected way.

Now, back to Mozzarella, Mississippi and Massachusetts

hmm...

Maria Mississippi? - Sounds cool, at least for me.

Maria Iris Mississippi? - Sounds a little cooler, named after Ms. Maria Iris Sakagami, the Advisor of Class B.

Iris Mississippi? - Sounds much cooler... but maybe cooler if we use Mississippi into a given name.

Mississippi Nicosia - US and Greek? Greco-American?

Mississippi Italia - Italian-American? Hmm, am I giving them places as last names?

Mozzarella Mississippi - Cheese from Mississippi? It can be interchanged actually. Word Play mode. How about naming her brother Pimiento. Wait, are they Italian?

For all that's certain, Massachusetts will only be used as a last name. Again, with Maria and Iris as given names. (Don't think I'm attached to a girl named Maria Iris, I'll kill you)

Anyway, It's not that only places can be used as names, you can use Planets, Flowers, Weapon Systems and weird adjectives, Like in the case of Clandestine Chrysanthemum (Weird Adjective + Flower ) and Maj. Strela Guideline (Weapons Systems) also, Col. Alstroemeria Lilium (Flowers)

Since Planets are named after figures from Literature and Mythology... so WTF? they're named after gods?

Using something else:

Ms. Ariete Mississippi? <<<--- Italian Weapon Sytem

Ms. Ariane Mississippi? <<<--- Greek Name

Ms. Arianne Mississipi <<<-- After Aria, a musical thing/stuff

Ms. Illustrina/Illustri/Illustria Cressida <<<-- Named after one of Uranus' moons and a Warship."

Ms. Neva Divina <<<--- Russian Weapons Systems. Name someone with Kalashnikov;

Ms. Tala Kalashnikov <<< --- Tagalog word for Star + Kalashnikov (A Star and an Iconic Rifle, think of it as political.)

There's a hell lot of possibilities. So naming all the student's of the academy wouldn't be as hard as one would think.

8.) Sora Aoki - Hiromi's half-Devil cousin. She's Flirty (Dead Serious Flirty) and has some hidden quirks and perks in store for surprises. often a victim of Hiromi's romantic outbursts. Sora often kills or create romantic moments for Kyo and Hiromi. (She actually cares for the both of them.)

9.) Nori Nekozawa - The Eccentric, Introverted, Occult-maniac? Founder and President of the Occult Studies Club (Guess where'd he got his interest from.) He likes to help people in such strange ways. A Class A Magician.

10.) Yori Sawanaga - The Prince Character. Flamboyant and knows how to handle women pretty well. The real gentleman who does not flatter for gain. Owns a cosplay cafe inside the campus.

The Hidden Four

All of them related to the Hero. A Pyrokineticist, A Magician, and two espers.

2 with long hair, the other two with short hair. One with glasses, one with long bangs.

2 Outgoing, 1 Introverted and the other one, a mix of both. All females.

Starting off with Yori.

Yori is born to a Japanese-French mother. His father is Japanese. Yori studied in France where he met first Kyo. It was Kyo who inspired him to put-up a cosplay cafe right inside the campus building. Yori is a real gentleman and is considered a prince by many. He's in the same class as Sora, the cafe's manager.

Now, on to Nori.

Nori's a name of a food compliment, right? But one should take note of his last name, Nekozawa... sounds familiar, doesn't it? Nori is gifted with Photographic Memory, a gift that allowed him to memorize every page of every book that he reads, making him a Class A magician in the process. Nori is the Founder and President of the Occult Studies Club. A club that is dedicated to all things Paranormal. Nori first met Yori during one of his father's ventures to France.

Yes, that' sleep... and our Protagonist does that all the time. But his reasons are up to you to discover.

Now, starting with Sakura Ishii, Nanako's younger sister..

Not really a moment killer, but rather, the one who suggested to Kyo to be her sister's boyfriend.

Duh! and he did... only to unwrap the Naive Everygirl side of Nanako from her Ojou / Dandere side, to the point that Nanako regressed to being someone new to Kyo.

Fujino Ishii... Your kind, caring, sweet advisor with a twist.

The real moment killer, and even playfully teases Kyo and Nanako while doing teaching her homeroom class. a mix between a bottle fairy and an obnoxious future in law.

If you try to pursue Hiromi...

Beware, Sora Aoki is there to screw up and at the same time, stirrup any romantic moment between the two of them. Despite being electrocuted most of the time, Sora never ceases to help them progress (and regress.)

The Sun in the South

Trying to comprehend how tell if it's morning already?

Simple, Use an Alarm Clock because at Amundsen-Scott station...

The Only sunrise there is at Sept. 21, Normally 10 minutes before noon. After that, another 6 months of sunlight until March 23 when the Sun sets at 9:00 in the morning.

This is For Davis Station:

But If your at the other stations on the outer regions, you can still have a normal day, 23 Hours at most that is. Starting From Jan 18, the numbers of hours per day decreases steadily until June 2 (37 Minutes), when the sun sets again at 14:05. The Sun Rises again on June 10, right after lunch break, at 1:00 PM. After June 10, the length of day increases until November 25, when the sun will be up all day.

Meanwhile, at Mawson Station at Holmes Bay

The length of day gradually decreases from Jan 13 to June 14 when the sun has fallen below the horizon. Starting June 29 (An Eight Minute Day) Length of Day gradually increases until Nov 28 when the Sun appears all day long.

It's been a year when I first wrote an original story which takes place in Antarctica. I started writing the day after I watched "5 Centimetres per Second" and "A place Promised in our Early Days" -Both good films... I was really inspired and blazed of writing 1 to 4 chapters a day.

Eventually, I became too busy to write new chapters and I realized, I screwed on some parts.... Oh well...

During my last year of High School, I kept saying to one of my friends "I'll make a hentai game!" and yes, he did not believe me...

It turned out to be a half-baked reality when I discovered Ren'py. I'm making a game now, but it's not an eroge game.

The Start of a Story.

Delta is the FOURTH (4=D, hence delta) story in a series of stories I made almost 14 months ago.

Starting with

1.) Alpha = Alpha is the story of Akiharu Miku, a quiet and preternaturally serious student who has troubles over his past relationships. His troubles began when he spent a supposedly good moment with his girlfriend, a childhood friend of his named Mari Sakura ended in a bang. He woke up hours later to find out that all his ribs are broken, his legs are fractured and is lying on an underground Nuclear Blast Shelter under an hospital. The story tells of his troubles and relationships over the next 6 years, trying to find answers over the uncertainty of his beloved's status. More problems arise when his only best friend leaves him for his half-assed attitude and another girl comes out but he can't return her feelings.

2.) Beta = Beta is a chain of short stories about different units of a Mechanized Infantry Company assigned to provide reconnaissance for a counter-attack. Beta also tells us about a Light infantry Unit under siege as they defend a small but strategic town from a much large unit.

3.) Charlie = Charlie is told from the view of a Russian Contingent covering retreating Antarctic Forces as the Antarctic Peninsula is being overrun by Invading Australians. The story revolves around Lt. Colonel Alstroemeria Lilium who finds her Command Post in great danger of being overrun. She must hold the line to continue her mission, or retreat and loose the the trust of her subordinates and her Antarctic Counterparts.

4.) Delta = Delta tells us about Kyo Nakahara, who, despite being Japanese, is attached and considered to be an Antarctic. Delta is about High School life 6 years after the war. A High School where Gods and Devils live among humans. Delta was formerly a spin-off of Alpha, Kyo Nakahara and most of the heroines are Akiharu Miku's classmates.

5.) Echo = Major Strela Guideline of the 1023rd Infantry Battalion must make a decision. Hold the Line and Die, or Retaliate to Survive as they try and secure a vital Airstrip. An airstrip so vital that it can change the tide of war.

6.) Floréal = Half French Demigoddess Twins, Paulina and Maria Hiragana are two of the most famous students in the same Academy where the characters of Delta attend. Yori Sawanaga is also half-French, from the nobility. He must try and resolve the problems between the twins as his best friend Nori has foretold him, "The World Ends if the two of them quarrel." Then a mysterious Schoolmate named Clandestine Chrysanthemum helps him to prevent the "End of the world" as they both know it. This is better known to my friends as "Frenchies"

Those are the stories that happen in the same universe as Alpha. though there are more things and ideas inside my head, I guess 6 stories is enough for now.
